Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Klavia (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a piano-practice app published by Catloop. This policy explains what the app does with your information.
In short: we don’t require an account, we don’t track you, we don’t show ads, and we don’t sell any data. Your imported music stays with you.
Information the app handles
- Sheet music you import. When you import a PDF, photo, scan, or MIDI file, the app sends that file to our conversion service to turn it into playable notation. The file is processed to produce the notation and is not retained after conversion. It is not linked to your identity and is never used for advertising or profiling. MusicXML/.mxl files are converted on your device and are not uploaded.
- Camera. Used only when you choose to scan sheet music. The captured image is processed for conversion as above; it is not stored or shared for any other purpose.
- Microphone. Optional. If you choose the microphone as your practice input, the app listens in real time only to detect the notes you play. Audio is processed on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- Bluetooth. Used only to connect a MIDI keyboard. No data is collected.
- On-device data. Your imported songs and app settings are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded except as part of the conversion described above.
What we do NOT do
- No user accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
- No sale or sharing of personal data.
Service providers
The conversion service runs on Google Cloud (Cloud Run) acting only as a processor to convert the file you submitted. Files are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS and are not retained after the conversion completes.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
- Delete any imported song from within the app’s library at any time.
- Turn off Camera or Microphone access for Klavia in iOS Settings ▸ Privacy.
Data retention & security
Uploaded files are deleted after conversion. Data stored on your device remains until you delete it or remove the app. All network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
